Getting to know me.
I will be the realest me so that you can be the realest you.
Why did you decide to become a therapist?
I have always loved the deeper, more emotion-laden conversations I had with others. I like to know what’s motivating people to change and why it’s worth the effort. I love discussing the most meaningful parts of life and as a therapist I am grateful for the opportunity to do that as my job.
Who do you want to work with?
Adults who are looking for a more meaningful, richer life experience. Clients who are motivated and ready to make changes in their life to take them to a new chapter or those who are ready to close dysfunctional past chapters.
What inspires you?
So. Much. Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Irvin Yalom, my kids, my friends, my family, my dog, my cats, my clients, the plants in living room (they just keep on keeping on), the therapeutic relationship, all things transpersonal, the TV show Alone, Pedro Pascal, Pikachu choosing to be Pikachu, long distance runners, people who believe in the power and triumph of love over hate.
What do you do in your free time?
I like spending time with the people I love, watching the current Netflix series at the time whilst psychoanalyzing the main characters for fun. I’m an avid reader and read at least 30 books a year (lots of fantasy romance). I enjoy gardening, quilting, and making random creations. These days, I am spending time with my sons at the soccer fields, working out at CrossFit, and going on long distance runs training for the next half marathon.
We were friends in school, can you be my counselor?
Nope. I cannot. Not because I don’t think you’re cool- but if we already know each other, you may not be as honest as you need to be in session. And I may not push you as much as you would like me to. Feel free to refer your cousin or aunt though! And I’m happy to find you somebody else to work with.
